Jam hatched in a forest where her egg was left, and doesn't know who her parents were. Luckily, soon after she hatched, a dehydrated Marmalade had found her.

Although still somewhat young, Jam isn't terribly naive, though she likes to give pokemon the benefit of the doubt when she can. She doesn't hesitate to fight when a situation turns sour and will do whatever is in her power to make sure Marmalade is unharmed. She likes meeting new people and is a social butterfly. Since she grew up with Marmalade, his own dreams rubbed off on her a bit, and wants to be a famous dancer along side him.

Marmalade was part of a small traveling dancing group made up of other Maractus'. They had asked him to get water, but he ended up wandering too far, getting lost on the way. Deciding it was the best course of action, he treaded though the desert in one direction and finally got to a forest after weeks of walking.

Marmalade is very much the little brother type. Always making rash decisions and usually paying for them in the end. He can be very childish, but he means well. He's not shy at all in front of new people and insists that they see him dance. Very much easily impressed, all you have to do is offer him rock and tell him it's some kind of family heirloom that you are now bestowing on him. He'll do just about anything for Jam.
